Second and Third Graders will perform in the multipurpose (lunch) room.

"Pits and Alleys" in the Gym
A favorite Kenwood tradition! During school hours, classes get to enjoy an elaborate obstacle course set up in our gym. During this period, pickup will be at a different door since the gym is occupied.

Poem in Your Pocket Day
Students are invited to choose a favorite poem to have in their pocket to share with each other throughout the day. Principal Johnson will have poems for all students to keep in their pocket as well.



Spring Family Picnic!
Please save the date for our annual Kenwood Spring Picnic, Thursday, May 15 from 4:15-6 pm on the playground. There will be a FREE dinner for all students, along with their caregivers and siblings under 18, as well as fun activities, music performances from students, and much more! We hope to see you there!

Kindergarten Registration for 2025-26
We're delighted that your kindergartener will join the Kenwood school community in the 2025-26 academic year! Please join us for Kindergarten Registration on Tuesday, May 20, from 8:15 to 9:30. This will be an opportunity for the children to spend some time in a kindergarten classroom and for their grown-ups to meet with Principal Heidi Johnson and members of the PTA. Doors will open at 8:15 and the program will start at 8:30. Light refreshments will be provided.

Field Day with Mr. K!
Each grade level will have the opportunity to participate in Field Day and compete with their classmates in 4-5 events across the street at the Kenwood Park playing fields. Rain date is the following day, May 29.
Families and friends are invited to cheer on their favorite woodchucks, and we also need adult volunteers to help with set up, clean up, facilitating events, and more. If you are available, please sign up for a shift!

Fall Food Truck: Donuts and Apples!
North Star Food Truck will set up at dismissal time on Franklin Ave (between school and Kenwood Park). Donuts and local apples will be available for sale, with a portion of proceeds supporting our PTA.

Pumpkin Picking!
All Kenwood families are invited for this 3rd annual volunteer event organized by Kindergarten teacher Cathy Sullivan with longtime Kenwood friends Dr. Bob Young and Julie Walser. Help harvest pumpkins from the new Kenwood Pumpkin Patch at the Young Walser Farm in Dennison, MN. Pumpkins will be brought back to school and distributed to kids at our upcoming Fall Family Festival.

Concert fundraiser benefitting our future Outdoor Classroom! Bring your own chair/blanket and enjoy an hour of live music with Metro Brass Quintet on the lawn - corner of Penn and Franklin

Back to School Curriculum Night
5:30-6:00 PM - New Parent/Guardian Orientation and Welcome from the PTA
6:00 - 8:00 PM - Meet with Prinicipal Johnson, hear about the state of the school, and attend informational sessions in your children’s classrooms about the arc of the learning year
